Kirk Cousins to Atlanta, Saquon Barkley to Philadelphia among NFL's blockbuster signings 2024
NFL offseason got a jolt on Monday as two big-name players found new homes. Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins, coming off a torn Achilles, ended his six-year run with the Minnesota Vikings and inked a four-year, $180 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons. This move instantly upgrades Atlanta's offense, giving them a proven passer to pair with their talented young weapons. Meanwhile, star running back Saquon Barkley is leaving the New York Giants after battling injury woes.
He's joining the Philadelphia Eagles on a three-year, $37.75 million contract. This is a huge boost for the Eagles' backfield, providing a dynamic threat out of the backfield and taking pressure off their young quarterback. These signings are sure to shake up the NFC playoff race, with both the Falcons and Eagles hoping these additions will propel them towards a Super Bowl run.

Kirk Cousins and Saquon Barkley, two of pro football's best-known players at their positions, flew the coop Monday for the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles, respectively, jolting the normally staid NFL offseason.
Cousins, the fifth-leading passer of all active quarterbacks, has left the Minnesota Vikings and agreed to a four-year deal with the Falcons, said his agent, Mike McCartney.
Cousins, 35, had spent six seasons in Minnesota, following six campaigns with the franchise now known as the Washington Commanders.
The NFL's 2024 schedule hasn’t been announced, but each team knows whom they'll be playing this fall. The Falcons, by coincidence, are set to visit the Vikings this season.
